About Jenn Thornton

An engagement in myriad interests led Jenn Thornton down many fascinating paths until all roads converged at Thornton Editorial—the boutique writing studio she formed in 2004 to provide a wide range of editorial services to both businesses and individuals.

Jenn has enjoyed work as a freelance journalist, copywriter, magazine editor and editorial director of a regional publishing company. Her work has appeared in Atlanta’s Men’s Book, Sunset, JEZEBEL, The Atlantan, Miami, Real Weddings, Riviera, San Joaquin Magazine, Arizona Home and Design and many other publications nationwide. She has also written corporate communications for such companies as Sony and LMP International, and is currently a Senior Consulting Editor for Modern Luxury Media and its portfolio of 13 luxury city magazines covering the top U.S. markets (Chicago, Dallas, Hawaii, Houston, Los Angeles, Manhattan, Miami, and Washington DC among them).

Writing provides Jenn—a history enthusiast with a degree in the subject who interned as a junior archivist for the CSUS Archives and a project historian for the California State Office of Historic Preservation—the ideal porthole through which to examine the people, places, and turning points that have always captivated her. She funnels this enthusiasm into creating original web and print content designed to help clients—from Fortune 500s to boutique PR firms—make history of their own.

Jenn also explores history as it relates to all aspects of the modern lifestyle through a uniquely feminine lens on her blog, Herstorical Perspectives.
